Our assessment tools will assist students with deciding on an academic focus and career path based on their individual interest, skills, personality, and values.

Career Development Workshops/Zirin Bernstein Speaker Series

Our workshops are designed to develop their professional document portfolio in the areas of resumes and cover letters, interview skills, 30 sec elevator pitch, salary negotiation, and job search techniques.

Career Ventures/Externships

The MACC staff connects student-athletes with industries during site visits and Micro- internships based on their demanding schedules.

Graduate/Professional School Preparation

We offer postgraduate admissions advising for all advanced degrees as well as graduate school test preparation.

Individual Career Counseling

MACC Career Counselors prepare student- athletes for major selection and career development that is specific to each students career interest

Internship Search Techniques

Searching for internships can be an overwhelming task. MACC will teach you how to search for internships that relate to your area of study and career aspirations. Working with a career counselor you will be able to find select internships to build your skills and widen your network. Also, learn how to apply those skills to broaden your experiential learning.

Interview Prep

Learn and practice the different types of interviews to land that perfect job.

Job Search Strategies (LinkedIn)

Working with a Career Counselor you will learn how undertake a job search assuring the path forward is clearly marked and you are set to have your network begin to work for you. Includes traps to avoid in searching for jobs, and how to use social media (LinkedIn) to your advantage.

Job Shadow Program/Mentor Program

The MACC staff creates great opportunities to "try on" careers before requiring them to declare a major and/or career field. They will have the opportunity to shadow with industry professionals, as well as select a mentor to broaden their career possibilities.

Networking/Alumni Connections

Throughout the academic year, MACC provides opportunities for you to engage with former letter winners and alumni working in your career area of interest as well as related fields. These opportunities provide the forum for you to learn how to leverage relationships to get a jump start on your job search. The Wolverine Network is the tool used for these important connections. The MACC also provides several speaking engagements to connect student-athletes to industry professionals

Online Resources

From your dorm room to competitions, student-athletes utilize Handshake, LinkedIn, and Going Global to navigate their career interest and connect with industry professionals.

Pre-Professional Programs

For student-athletes interested in the healthcare, law, finance, media, business development (foundations), technology, and real estate fields, our pre-professional programs provide opportunities for student-athletes to meet one-on-one with professionals who have extensive experience in the fields and can help them explore the professions and learn the next steps towards a career.
